1 TEACHING

In 2022, the Zambian government managed to recruit over 30 000 teachers,with the goverments introduction to free education in all government owned schools for the Zambian people,there has been an increased demand for teachers so as to help with the now increased number of pupils in government schools!

Teachers play a vital role in any countries education system as they are responsible for  planning and delivering lessons within subject area,Implementing national curriculum,Assessing student’s progress,valuating and reporting on student’s behaviour,adhering to the highest standards in education proactively learning as part of continuous professional development (CPD) and many more.

The average salary for a teacher in government schools ranges from 3,050 ZMK (lowest average) to 11,600 ZMK (highest average).

2 NURSING

In 2022,the zambian government recruited over 3,260 nurses to work in government health facilities.The nursing sector has also recorded high demand in private owned health facilities as of december 2022 due to spaces left out by those recruited by the government

.Before the COVID crisis hit,Zambia was recorded to have a shortfall of qualified labor force in the nursing sector. In 2022, the Zambian government announced that it needed over  20,000 nurses and plans to recruit 30.000 before  the year 2030.

3 VETERINATION

To become a veterinarian,one needs to aquire aquire a degree in Veterinary  Medicine from an acredited university.

Salaries for qualified veterinians range from 2,980 ZMK (lowest average) to 8,040 ZMK (highest average) as of 2023.

4 PHARMACIST

Pharmacists are responsible for providing pharmaceutical information to patients and healthcare providers, along with compounding and/or dispensing prescription medications.

pharmacy is another occupation that is projected to grow substantially in the near future and has been gaining notable traction ever since the Corona Virus outbreak.

The Pharmacy occupation has a salary range from 3,950 ZMK (lowest) to 11,000 ZMK (highest).

Qualifications include a Diploma or Digree from an acreditted university or college.

5 BANK MANAGERS

Bank managers are responsible for monitoring sales target,Supervising and ensuring a high level of customer service,reporting to the head office and promoting bank services.

Though requirements for this job depend on a particular job vacancy,a bank manager is expected to have a degree in Business Administration or a related field with greater employment advantage for those with a  a barchelors or masters in finance or mathematics.

Salaries for this field range from 5,970 ZMK to 16,700 ZMK monthly.

6 HUMAN RESOURCES

Human resource professional are responsible for recruiting and training the labour force, handling employee relations, and overseeing the specialist’s performance.

For employment oppotunities HR specialists are expected to hold at least an associate’s in HR or a related field.

Monthly pay for this field range from 4,200 ZMK (lowest) to 14,100 ZMK (highest).

7 SALES MANAGERS

This field involves implementing the company’s sales plan, supervising the sales team, and meeting sales goals. 

Depending on the working environment,sales managers can also be expected to Coordinate direct sales,Sales reporting,Keep inventory control and Performance analysis.

Most employers expect  at least a barchelors degree in business management or related qualifications.

Salaries for this sector range from 5,350 ZMK (lowest) to 15,000 ZMK (highest).
